03 May 2013 Update

Well, the big news this week has of course been the release of DCS ver. 1.2.4, along with the first DCS module... DCS: UH-1H Huey! We've been really delighted with the reception of the Huey and that it has demonstrated that a talented partner can develop a module to the same standards of the other DCS modules. We hope this will put some of those concerns to bed.

In order to release the Huey and 1.2.4 this week, we ran out of time to include some additional changes/fixes into the installers. On Monday, we PLAN/HOPE to provide a 1.2.4 update with the following:

• Fixed hit point of shells in multiplayer that were independent of turret rotation on the server-side.
• Disabled the incomplete "Ultra High" visibility setting.
• Implemented the waiting screen for the Module Manager.
• Corrected helicopter exhaust effect.
• Fixed damage value for AI aircraft.
• Corrected invisible warehouses.
Helicopter takeoff from ships corrected.
• Adjusted shell aiming.
• Adjusted infantry weapon accuracy.
• AK-74 assault rifle rate of fire has been corrected.
• Fixed lock ability for non-air defense units.
• Fixed "Emission Control" for radar units.
• Advanced options waypoint that allows air unit to fly to an assigned ground unit.
• Adjusted delay between manual gear changes for CA units.
• Fixed delay after launch of IR-guided missiles.
• Repair after mast bumping is now available.
• Fixed GUI button size errors.
• Fixed synchronization of ground units in network play.

After that, we will evaluate the most important remaining 1.2.4 bugs and do our very best to resolve as many of them as possible in 1.2.5. Work will also accelerate on development of DCS: F-15C and DCS: S-27. I hope to talk more about those next week.

Re: DCS: Updates....

http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p ... ost1806890

http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1 ... tcount=153
Hello folks,

Wow, what a big thread.

Sorry - this whole thing wasn't supposed to be public yet. A single misclick on my part set in motion a chain of events of such epic proportions, who could have ever guessed. And well, here we are.

I've been posting on a Russian forum a bunch last night since that's where the leak came out. Figured I owe it to you guys to actually post everything in English.

Here's what I talked about in Russian yesterday:

1. There’s a new project in development between RRG Studios (my company) and Eagle Dynamics.
2. We’re making a new WWII flight sim.
3. The general approach in the new sim is the same as in DCS: P-51.
4. Cockpit workload, cabin systems, levers-buttons-gears, reliance on actual historical manuals, and the flight model, will be the same as in DCS: P-51.
5. Modeling of various secondary internal systems, such as modeling the pressure inside each bend in the hydraulics, will be somewhat simplified.
6. The landscape in the new project will be based on EDGE.
7. The theater, planeset, screenshots, videos, etc – will come in due time.

And here's some new information:

1. Myself and a bunch of ED guys are flying in nice tight formation to the Flying Legends airshow tomorrow. We’ll go TSA on the vintage warbirds there. There’ll be lots of videos and photos.
2. The official project announcement, alongside screenshots, videos, schedules, and the most detailed feature description you’ve ever seen on any flight sim ever, will come no earlier and no later than September 1st, 2013. The date is very important for the project. We cannot miss it. Be there.

Other than that, I won’t be revealing any more details until Sept 1st.

I'll hang around here for a few more hours, and then I'm off to Flying Legends until Tuesday.

Re: DCS: Updates....

Updates del UH-1H

http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p ... ost1812523
Hello,

Firstly apologies for the lack of forum participation over the last few weeks. We are hard at work on preparing the Huey for final release and of course also working the Mi-8 module. Here is a short update on current progress.

Recently we published a list of features we are currently working on and hope to implement for the final release of DCS: UH-1H Huey. These are:

- Further improvements to the rotor and engine models
- Correct engine start procedure to include throttle Off and Idle positions as well as ignition trigger and Idle Release switch
- XM60 Reflex aiming sight for the right pilot
- Radar altimeter
- Chaff/flare dispensing system
- M134 minigun as door gun
- M60 door gun bullet dispersion
- Improved crew AI (initially only door gunner AI)
- Unarmed "slick" variant
- Sling load modeling
- Assault troops animation (depends on infantry modeling progress)

Here are some screenshots showing current progress on some of these features.

The XM60 Reflex sight is now functional, can be stowed and lowered, turned on and off, adjusted for brightness and depression:

Imagen
Imagen

The radar altimeter has been added and is functional:

Imagen

The countermeasures system (chaff/flares) has been added to the cockpit and external 3D model, but is not yet functional at this time:

Imagen
Imagen

Finally, the slick version of the Huey is now in-game:

Imagen

As for the Mi-8, the model itself is already quite advanced, able to fly and shoot quite well with the majority of the systems up and running, including most of the cockpit controls. However there is still a lot of tuning ahead as well as work on the documentation and gameplay content. Make sure to check out our recent report on a field trip to record authentic Mi-8 audio for this great simulation: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=109952

Thanks for your interest!

Nuevo update Bezcl Mig-21Bis de -Rudder-

http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1 ... tcount=127
This week's update on the model includes cleaning up some object's polygons and adding a bit of detail. Pictured below are the updated pylons. A Rep point to the first person who knows what the 3rd pictured pylon is for.

I mentioned in my last update I had some work to do on the fuselage around the cannon. What I needed to do was create a gradual bump along the rear part of the cannon.

Other object cleansing included the AoA Sensor and the ILS Antenna.

Last night, I just finished remodeling the HF Antenna Fin & Air Scoop.

Mas info del progreso del T-2

http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1 ... stcount=43
Hey all, here's a new video showing some of the gradual modeling improvements. I annotated it a bit to show what I'm trying to do to make sure it matches approach instructions (and feels right while doing so).

Also, this is the initial version of the new cockpit integrated. Much better field of view with the Mk5 gunsight system out of the way on the dashboard!

Again, please keep in mind this is still VERY MUCH a work in progress and everything is subject to change as usual. I have about 3 full pages of bulleted items to continue to work on so we aren't out of the woods yet.

MEGA Wags update 19 July
http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1 ... ostcount=1
19 July 2013 - DCS News Update

For today's news update, I've gone pretty heavy on the pretty pictures. I've attached new images of:

1- DCS: Fw 190D-9 that includes updated cockpit art.

2- New images of the Su-33.

4- Updated images of the new Tu-22M3 "Backfire" along with a new Kh-22 model.

5- New images of the Nevada map. This past week we started rebuilding the Nevada map with the new map tools, but it is still early and very rough... a lot of tuning and tweaking to still be done. Thankfully, we are nearing the end of this long journey and it is on track to be released later this year (seriously). I'm sure many of you have lots of questions about the map and the technology behind it, but I'm afraid I have no answers for you at this time. I have no direct contact with the map team and no access to the map build. However, as the map nears release, I'm sure I will have more information to pass along.

Re: DCS: Updates....

Mientras, hoy, tenemos nueva versión 1.2.5.15875 version via autoupdater.

Re: DCS: Updates....

(modo cotilleo off)

Re: DCS: Updates....

ED:
- Mejoras de capacidades y potencial de DCS: World
- FW-190D-9
- F/A-18C Hornet
- Nuevo motor grafico EDGE/IG
- Teatro Nevada
- Su-27SM
- F-15C
- Apertura de DCS:W a modulos terrestres y navales
+Belsimtek:
- Mil Mi-8MTv2
- AH-1G
- Mil Mi-24
- OH-58D
+VEAO:
- Bae Hawk T.1
- Eurofighter
+Beczl Studios:
-Mig-21Bis
-Mig-23

-T-2 Buckeye
-AV8B Harrier II
-F-15E Strike Eagle
-A-7 Corsair II
+L-39 Patriot Team:
-L-39 Albatros ZA/ZO
+Ejercito del Aire DCS:World Team (futura 3rd party española, nombre no confirmado):

-F-4U Corsair
-Teatro Taiwan / costa de china
-Teatro pacifico WW2
- Aparatos no confirmados WW2
- Teatro WW2

Re: DCS: Updates....

vale, noticia de los viernes....

http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1 ... ostcount=1
A-10A and Su-25 for DCS Flaming Cliffs Now Available

Today, A-10A and Su-25 for DCS Flaming Cliffs went on sale for $14.99 on our online store: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.co...r=shop&lang=en

These modules feature:

1- Detailed 3D model (high polygon / high res textures)
2- 6 DOF cockpit
3- Advanced Flight Model (AFM)
4- Same level of cockpit system detail as the Lock On: Flaming Cliffs aircraft

We are releasing these modules for the following reasons:

1- It allows users access to these aircraft that do not own, or want to own, Lock On.
2- It allows users to buy just the aircraft they are interested in, without having to purchase the full Flaming Cliffs 3 product.
3- It allows us to make these aircraft available to a much larger audience on Steam, Origin, GameFly and other digital retailers.

If you already own FC3, you do NOT need to purchase these. The A-10A and Su-25 of FC3 are identical to the DCS Flaming Cliffs versions.

DCS Patch 1.2.5.15865 Now Available

A hot fix for DCS 1.2.5 can now be downloaded through the auto updater.

• WinXP is supported once again.
• The A-10A Advanced Flight Model (AFM) is no longer AWOL.
• The broken UH-1 input file has been repaired.
• The crash resulting from the broken aircraft activation / deactivation triggers has been addressed.
• Fixed the periodic green explosions.

There are other 1.2.5 issues that will be addressed in a second patch next week.

Updated B-8V20 Rocket Pods

I've attached some early renders of the new B-8V20 rocket pods. These will look great handing off the new Mi-8MTv2.

Upcoming Steam Releases

As most of you are aware, we are moving our complete library of DCS titles to Steam. This will include:
DCS World
DCS: A-10C Warthog (DLC version)
DCS: P-51D Mustang
DCS: Combined Arms
DCS: Black Shark 2
A-10A: DCS Flaming Cliffs
Su-25: DCS Flaming Cliffs

We hope to have this process complete next week.
